Kirsten Shannon is a caring and experienced clinical psychologist who possesses a practical, skills-based approach to therapy, that empowers her clients to develop the tools they need to thrive. Kirsten holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. She has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety, including generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder and social anxiety and works with both individuals and couples. Other interest includes working with women experiencing fertility and perinatal challenges, relationship problems (both workplace and personal), poor self-esteem and depression.

Throughout her career, Kirsten has remained committed to staying at the forefront of therapeutic techniques and approaches, which was supported through her long association with the University of Sydney. Kirsten worked at The University for over 17 years, culminating in her final role as the Head of Clinical Services for Gamble Aware program at the Brain and Mind Centre. Drawing from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based modalities in including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema therapy, she tailors her interventions to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual. By focusing on practical skills and strategies, she equips her clients with the resources they need to effectively manage symptoms and navigate life's challenges.

In addition to her skills-based approach, Kirsten brings warmth and humour to her practice. She strives to create a comfortable and light-hearted atmosphere where clients feel at ease. Through genuine connection and occasional moments of levity, Kirsten fosters a therapeutic environment that encourages openness and growth..
